British heavyweight boxer Daniel Dubois has backed Tyson Fury to defeat Anthony Joshua in their highly anticipated heavyweight clash scheduled for December 11 in Cardiff, Wales.
Dubois gave his prediction while speaking to DAZN News ahead of his own rematch against Fabio Wardley for the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) heavyweight title.
Although he tipped Fury to emerge victorious, the former opponent of Joshua admitted that choosing a winner was not straightforward, acknowledging the experience and achievements of both fighters.
“I’ll pick Fury, but it’s hard to even do that,” Dubois said.
He described the long-awaited contest as a big-money encounter between two experienced fighters, suggesting that commercial interests were a major part of the attraction.
“Two veterans are going to have a big-money fight. To me, it’s not even a proper fight. It’s just business. Good luck to them and may the best man win,” he added.
The December showdown is expected to take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, with the fight set to be broadcast worldwide on Netflix.
Dubois has personal history with Joshua, having stopped the British-Nigerian boxer in the fifth round of their September 2024 heavyweight contest.
Joshua has since returned to winning ways, while Fury has also resumed his career after a period away from boxing.
The clash is one of the most anticipated bouts in British boxing, following years of speculation and unsuccessful attempts to bring the two heavyweight stars together.
Meanwhile, Dubois remains focused on his own immediate challenge against Wardley, with the outcome potentially shaping his next steps in the heavyweight division.
