The inauguration of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term is set to feature a colourful parade and an inspection of the guard of honour as the state marks another phase of his administration.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, 16 October 2026, following Oyebanji’s re-election in the June governorship poll.
The inauguration programme forms part of activities organised to mark the governor’s return to office alongside his deputy, Monisade Afuye.
The event is expected to bring together political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, security personnel and other dignitaries to witness the formal commencement of the administration’s second term.
The government has indicated that its priorities for the new term include healthcare, electricity, road infrastructure, water supply, agriculture, human capital development and expanded economic opportunities.
The inauguration also provides an opportunity for the administration to outline its plans for sustaining ongoing projects and improving the welfare of residents across the state.
As the new term begins, attention will turn to how the government translates its development promises into tangible results for the people of Ekiti.
