A Nigerian man has criticised First Lady Oluremi Tinubu following her appeal to Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, questioning the administration’s record amid the economic difficulties facing citizens.
The man expressed his displeasure in a social media reaction, directing his criticism at the First Lady over her call for voters to give her husband another term in office.
Oluremi Tinubu had previously appealed to voters in the South-East to support the President’s re-election during an empowerment programme in Owerri, Imo State, in September.
Speaking at the event, she said she hoped to enjoy a better Nigeria in her old age and urged residents to vote for her husband, expressing confidence that the administration would continue working to improve the country.
However, her appeal has attracted criticism from some Nigerians, with the latest reaction reflecting wider public debate over the government’s performance and the economic pressures affecting households.
The critic reportedly expressed disappointment that the First Lady was seeking support for a second term while many citizens continue to raise concerns about the cost of living and their standard of living.
His remarks have added to the ongoing online debate surrounding the 2027 presidential election, with Nigerians expressing differing views on the administration and the prospect of another four years in office.
