Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy has been announced as the headline performer for the halftime show at the NFL’s first regular-season game in Paris, France.
The Nigerian music star will perform on October 25, 2026, when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the New Orleans Saints at the Stade de France. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. local time.
Reacting to the announcement, Burna Boy expressed excitement about returning to the iconic Paris venue, describing it as a place that already holds a significant place in his career.
“Paris gave me one of the biggest nights of my career,” the singer said, adding that returning to the Stade de France for such an occasion “means everything”.
He also said the NFL was bringing a new experience to France and that he was proud to represent African music on the international stage.
The upcoming performance comes about a year after Burna Boy made history at the same stadium by becoming the first African artist to headline a concert at the Stade de France. He performed there in April 2025.
The NFL Paris Game will mark the league’s first regular-season game in France and forms part of its largest international season to date. The 2026 campaign features games across seven countries and four continents, with seven international halftime shows planned.
Burna Boy joins a list of major performers selected for the NFL’s international fixtures this season. Other artists include Ayra Starr, who is scheduled to perform at the London game, while Ricky Martin and Pedro Sampaio will feature at the Rio de Janeiro game. Cage The Elephant and The Warning are also scheduled for the Munich and Mexico City fixtures respectively.
The NFL said Burna Boy was a natural choice for the Paris event, citing his previous history at the Stade de France and the strong presence of African music in the city.
The full halftime performance will be broadcast live in France on France Télévisions and beIN Sports, while L’Équipe will broadcast the game later that evening.
For Burna Boy, the performance represents another major international platform for Nigerian and African music as he returns to a venue where he previously made history.
