Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of three commissioners-designate and six political aides as part of efforts to strengthen the administration’s governance structure.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, announced the appointments in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The three commissioner nominees are Dr Ahmed Wali Doho, Nasiru Adamu Degri and Dr Muhammad A. Bello. Their names have been forwarded to the Gombe State House of Assembly for screening and approval.

The governor also approved the appointment of Abdulmalik Jibrin and Mohammed Nuhu as Special Advisers.

Four others — Jibrin M. Ali, Sadiq Abubakar, popularly known as BB Kumo, John Launa and Danlami Sanda — were appointed as Senior Special Assistants II on Political and Community Engagement.

According to the state government, the appointments are intended to improve coordination within the administration and support the implementation of its development agenda.

While the appointments of the advisers and senior special assistants take immediate effect, the three commissioner-designates will only assume office after receiving approval from the State House of Assembly.

The latest appointments further expand the governor’s team as his administration continues its efforts to coordinate government policies and programmes across the state.
