Sharon Adeleke Friendship Rules
Sharon Adeleke, sister of Nigerian music superstar Davido, has revealed some of the personal rules she follows when choosing the people she allows into her inner circle.
In a video shared online, Sharon explained that she takes friendship seriously and often takes a long time before considering someone a close friend.
She said her past experiences have made her more cautious about allowing people into her personal space, describing herself as “paranoid” about who she lets into her world.
Among her 12 friendship rules, Sharon said she dislikes passive-aggressive behaviour, cliques, possessiveness, entitlement and what she described as “famzing” — forcing oneself into social circles or situations for personal connections.
She also revealed that she does not lend money to friends. According to her, if she wants to help someone financially, she would rather give the money without expecting it to be returned.
Sharon added that she values organisation, particularly when it comes to outings and girls’ trips, saying she prefers luxury trips to be planned well in advance.
However, one of her most striking rules involved her famous brother, Davido.
Sharon said she has no problem with people being fans of the singer, but she would not want a friendship where Davido is constantly the topic of conversation.
“If I feel like you’re too much of a Davido fan… when you want to talk about Davido all the time, we can’t be friends.”
She also said she does not expect to be a friend’s only friend and is comfortable spending time alone. Forgetting a friend’s birthday or not posting them on Instagram, she added, would not necessarily affect how she values the friendship.
Sharon concluded that she is comfortable with people deciding that her approach to friendship is not for them.
For her, maintaining a close circle means having clear boundaries and surrounding herself with people who respect them.
