SeyiLaw has taken a swipe at Peter Obi after sharing an old newspaper publication concerning Bola Tinubu’s exit from office as Lagos State governor in May 2007.

The publication, dated May 2007, reported that the Tinubu administration was leaving ₦27 billion in the Lagos State treasury—not ₦270 billion as stated in the post circulating online. It also referenced outstanding debts and other financial commitments.

The figures surrounding Lagos’ finances at the time have been the subject of various claims and political arguments over the years. Available historical data also show that Lagos recorded ₦83.02 billion in internally generated revenue in 2007, according to figures cited by TheCable from CBN-related data.

The post has since sparked reactions online, with SeyiLaw appearing to use the old publication to challenge Peter Obi and the narrative surrounding Tinubu’s record as Lagos governor.
