The Nasarawa State University has intensified efforts to address security challenges affecting students and communities around its campuses, according to the institution’s Vice-Chancellor.
The Vice-Chancellor said the university had been working with relevant security agencies and surrounding communities to improve safety and protect students, staff and residents.
He noted that insecurity around student communities could disrupt academic activities and create anxiety among students, making sustained collaboration with security stakeholders necessary.
According to him, the institution has continued to engage security agencies and community leaders to identify security concerns and develop measures to prevent incidents.
He added that the university was also encouraging students to remain security-conscious and report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
The Vice-Chancellor said the institution would continue to strengthen its security arrangements while working with stakeholders outside the university to create a safer environment for learning and living.
He expressed confidence that the measures being implemented would help reduce security threats around student communities and support uninterrupted academic activities.
