The Nigerian Army has activated three new formations in Kebbi State as part of efforts to strengthen security operations and improve the protection of communities across the state.
The formations were activated following the commissioning of new military facilities intended to enhance the Army’s operational capacity and presence in the state.
The development is expected to improve the military’s ability to respond to security threats and support ongoing efforts to safeguard residents and critical infrastructure.
The Army said the new formations would also strengthen coordination between troops and other security agencies operating in Kebbi.
The activation comes amid security concerns in parts of the North-West, where communities have faced threats from armed groups and other criminal elements.
Military authorities said the increased presence would enable troops to respond more effectively to emerging threats while improving surveillance and intelligence gathering.
The Army also stressed the importance of cooperation between security personnel and local communities, particularly in providing useful information that could assist ongoing operations.
Residents and other stakeholders have been encouraged to support security agencies by reporting suspicious activities and providing credible information through appropriate channels.
The new formations are expected to complement existing military deployments in Kebbi and neighbouring areas as the security forces continue efforts to maintain peace and protect lives and property.
