Nigerian rapper OdumoduBlvck has shared his perspective on love, marriage and sacrifice, saying a man who claims he cannot die for his woman is a “big fool”.
The rapper made the statement while speaking on the In Motion Podcast on October 2, where he explained that his Christian faith influences his understanding of a husband’s responsibility towards his wife.
Referencing the Bible’s teaching that husbands should love their wives as Christ loved the church, OdumoduBlvck said he believes genuine love requires a willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice.
He also said he expects to die before his wife because she is younger than him, while noting that women generally have longer life expectancies than men.
The rapper explained that he wants his wife to continue with the life they build together and care for their children after his death. He jokingly added that she would eventually have to share his belongings among their children.
OdumoduBlvck also used the game of chess to illustrate his view of women, pointing out that the queen is the most powerful piece on the board.
He argued that understanding a woman’s value and treating her accordingly should be part of how men approach relationships and marriage.
The rapper further credited his mother for influencing his generous nature. According to him, growing up watching her give freely to others affected his own relationship with money, making it difficult for him to hold on to it.
He recalled that his mother was so generous that she would sometimes give away her own belongings, including her bed.
OdumoduBlvck also addressed the perception that he is a misogynist, saying the description bothers him because he believes it does not accurately represent his views towards women.
