Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has signed a ₦63.478 billion supplementary appropriation bill into law to fund additional government programmes and projects across the state and its 27 local government areas.
The supplementary budget was approved by the Jigawa State House of Assembly before being presented to the governor for assent.
The development provides the state government with additional spending authority to implement projects and programmes not adequately covered under the original 2026 budget.
The supplementary appropriation is expected to cover priority areas across Jigawa, including development initiatives at both state and local government levels.
The signing comes as the administration continues to pursue its development agenda, with emphasis on improving infrastructure and delivering services to residents.
The governor’s assent means the additional allocation is now legally available for implementation, subject to the relevant financial and budgetary procedures.
The latest development follows the Jigawa State Assembly’s consideration of the supplementary spending proposal as the government seeks additional resources to execute its 2026 plans.
