Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has joked that he could be 80 years old before the legal battle surrounding Manchester City’s financial charges finally reaches its conclusion.
The Portuguese tactician made the remark during an interview with Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, expressing amusement at the lengthy process and the prospect of further legal proceedings.
Mourinho suggested that although a final decision would eventually be reached, the possibility of an appeal could prolong the case for years.
“I’d rather have a bit of a laugh about it,” he said, adding that he would need to be fortunate enough to still be around when the final verdict arrives.
“Now a ruling will come, then an appeal… I’ll be 80,” the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager added.
