Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola has recounted a frightening health scare that left him unable to speak or move after he collapsed on the set of Warlord: Olori Ogun, a film produced by fellow actor Odunlade Adekola.

The Yoruba film star revealed that he became seriously ill before shooting his first scene, despite having received medical advice that he was not fit to work.

Ademola shared the experience on Instagram while expressing gratitude to Odunlade for trusting him with a role in the movie and standing by him throughout the production.

‘I Was Fading Away’

According to the actor, he began experiencing dizziness, weakness and excessive sweating while on location. His legs eventually became too weak to support him, forcing him to lean against a wall before members of the production crew intervened.

He explained that Odunlade noticed his condition and quickly called for assistance. A mat was brought, and Ademola was helped to lie down.

Describing the terrifying moment, the actor said he could hear people speaking around him but was too weak to respond or coordinate his movements.

He also revealed that he wanted to ask his personal assistant to contact his wife but could not gather enough strength to communicate before losing consciousness.

Ademola said he could not determine how long he remained unconscious, describing the duration as unknown.

Actor Ignored Doctors’ Warning to Continue Filming

The actor disclosed that medical professionals had warned him against continuing with the production because of his condition.

However, he admitted that he ignored their advice and continued working until filming was completed.

According to him, he relied on medication he obtained himself throughout the production, despite not being physically fit.

His decision, he explained, was influenced by his desire not to disappoint Odunlade, who had trusted him with the role and waited for his return before proceeding with the project.

The revelation has drawn attention to the pressure actors sometimes face while working on demanding productions and the importance of prioritising their health over professional commitments.

Odunlade Adekola Reacts to Revelation

Responding to Ademola’s post, Odunlade expressed surprise at learning the full extent of what his colleague had experienced during filming.

The filmmaker praised Ademola’s acting ability and thanked him for his commitment to the project, making it clear that he had not known the details of the health scare.

The response highlighted the bond between the two actors, who have worked together in the Yoruba movie industry.

About Warlord: Olori Ogun

The film features an ensemble cast that includes Odunlade Adekola, Muyiwa Ademola, Femi Adebayo, Toyin Abraham, Faithia Balogun, Ibrahim Chatta, Ireti Osayemi and Eniola Ajao.

The movie premiered in Nigerian cinemas in November 2025 before becoming available for streaming.

Ademola’s account has since sparked conversations among fans about the sacrifices performers make for their craft. His experience also serves as a reminder that medical advice should be taken seriously, particularly when symptoms are severe enough to cause collapse or loss of consciousness.
