President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his determination to build a prosperous Nigeria, insisting that his commitment to the country’s development has grown stronger.

The President made this known on Monday, November 2, while reflecting on his recent spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia, where he performed the lesser Hajj, known as Umrah, and was granted the rare opportunity to pray inside the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah.

Tinubu expressed appreciation to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his Nigerian delegation access to the sacred site.

Describing the experience as historic and deeply meaningful, the President said he used the opportunity to pray for wisdom and resilience to enable him to continue serving Nigerians effectively.

He expressed confidence that his prayers had been answered, recalling that he had also undertaken Umrah before the 2023 presidential election, when he prayed for Allah’s blessings and promised to return in gratitude.

Reflecting on the responsibilities of leadership, Tinubu referenced Surah Aal-Imran, Verse 26 of the Holy Qur’an, noting that power ultimately belongs to Almighty Allah, who grants and withdraws authority.

According to him, political power should be exercised with humility, responsibility and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people.

The President described his emergence as Nigeria’s leader as a special blessing, stressing that the position comes with an enormous responsibility to serve the country and justify the confidence placed in him.

“My commitment to Project Nigeria is higher. I am determined to usher in prosperity and fully develop the country,” Tinubu declared, reaffirming his resolve to pursue policies that would strengthen the economy and improve the nation’s future.

On the economy, the President expressed optimism about the progress recorded under his administration, describing the foundation laid as solid and the country’s economic outlook as encouraging.

He also emphasised the need to invest in young Nigerians, warning that the decisions taken by present-day leaders would determine how future generations remember them.

Tinubu maintained that his administration would continue to prioritise economic development, expand opportunities for young people and create an environment where Nigerians can achieve their full potential.

He further urged Nigerians to put their faith in Almighty Allah, follow their conscience and remain committed to the collective pursuit of national greatness.

Members of the presidential delegation who shared in the spiritual experience included Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate; and governors from Borno, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Yobe and Kwara states.

Business leaders, including BUA Group Chairman Abdulsamad Rabiu and Oando Chief Executive Officer Wale Tinubu, were also part of the delegation.
