The Federal Government has announced five digital financial service providers through which selected vulnerable Nigerians can receive its ₦50,000 cash assistance under the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).

The programme, administered by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, is designed to help vulnerable households cope with rising food prices and the increasing cost of essential goods.

The five approved platforms are ALAT by Wema Bank, MoMo Payment Service Bank (PSB), NairaGram, OPay and Moniepoint.

Five Platforms and Their USSD Codes

Eligible beneficiaries can use the following platforms and access codes to follow instructions relating to the intervention:

  1. ALAT by Wema Bank: Dial 94523#
  2. MoMo PSB: Dial 6710#
  3. NairaGram: Dial 72600#
  4. OPay: Dial 95520# or use the official mobile application.
  5. Moniepoint: Dial 557327# or use the official mobile application.

Who Is Eligible for the ₦50,000 Support?

According to the programme’s guidelines, beneficiaries are selected using verified national identity records and the National Social Register, with priority given to poor and vulnerable households.

Selected individuals will receive an SMS from an approved provider requesting their consent before the funds are credited to their designated mobile wallets.

The government says beneficiaries do not need to complete a separate application, pay registration fees or engage agents to secure the assistance. Checking eligibility does not automatically guarantee selection or payment.

FG Warns Nigerians Against Fraud

The government has cautioned Nigerians against fraudsters who may attempt to exploit the initiative by demanding money in exchange for registration or assistance with beneficiary selection.

Beneficiaries have been advised never to disclose their banking PINs, one-time passwords (OTPs) or other confidential security details to anyone claiming to facilitate the payment.

Anyone who receives a suspicious message or is asked to pay money to access the support should contact the official NERSI helpline on 0700-022-2222 for clarification.

The initiative is intended to provide direct financial relief to selected households as the government continues its efforts to cushion the impact of rising living costs.

Important: The ₦50,000 support is not available automatically to every Nigerian. Only selected beneficiaries can receive the payment, and the programme’s official guidance should be consulted before acting on any message.
