Veteran Nollywood actresses Tina Mba and Kate Henshaw are set to take centre stage in The Letter, a new theatrical production written and produced by Faith Akinola.
Presented by Mustard Tree Productions, the stage play explores themes of identity, rejection, societal expectations, emotional healing and restoration.
The story follows a young bride whose expectations surrounding a major moment in her life are suddenly disrupted, forcing her to confront disappointment, cultural expectations, unsolicited advice and public scrutiny.
Akinola said the production examines how people respond when life takes an unexpected turn and whether disappointment should be allowed to define a person’s sense of identity.
The play combines drama, music and symbolic staging to portray the protagonist’s emotional journey as she searches for healing and a renewed sense of self.
Mba and Henshaw will headline the production alongside Oluchi Odi, Mich Straw and other members of the cast.
