A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has explained why former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar selected former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai as deputy chairman of the party’s 2027 campaign council.
Momodu said the decision was influenced by the need to bring together key political figures and strengthen the party’s campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to him, El-Rufai’s political experience and role in the political coalition made him suitable for the position.
The explanation comes amid growing attention to the ADC’s preparations for the 2027 elections and its efforts to build a broad political platform around Atiku’s presidential ambition.
