Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has criticised bloggers for turning the controversy surrounding the death of gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, into online content.
Aigbe expressed concern over videos and interviews featuring members of the late singer’s family as disagreements continue over his burial arrangements and calls for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
In a post shared on Instagram, the actress questioned the lack of compassion shown towards the bereaved family, particularly the singer’s widow and their two young children.
She argued that the family should be allowed to mourn privately rather than have their disagreements amplified for public consumption.
“Not every tragedy needs an audience. Sometimes, people need the space to grieve. Have we lost our sense of humanity? What happened to compassion?” she wrote.

Aigbe lamented that bloggers were conducting interviews at a time when the family should be receiving support and privacy to cope with their loss.
She questioned the growing tendency to turn sensitive personal matters into social media content, warning that the pursuit of online attention could deepen the pain of those affected.
The actress stressed that the loss of a husband and father was already devastating, adding that the family deserved dignity as they navigated their grief.
