Lee Group of Companies Limited is developing a $1.8 billion industrial park in Ogun State, a major private-sector project expected to accommodate more than 29 manufacturing factories and generate over 2,500 direct and indirect jobs.
The proposed 450-hectare facility, known as the Lee Group First Industrial Park, is located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway within Sagamu and Obafemi-Owode Local Government Areas.
The development is designed to strengthen Nigeria’s manufacturing capacity, attract local and foreign investors, and reinforce Ogun State’s position as one of the country’s leading industrial destinations.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, is expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony on November 12, 2026. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, government officials, traditional rulers, industry leaders and members of the diplomatic community are also expected to attend.
The park is planned to accommodate businesses across several industries, including soap and detergent production, food processing, cosmetics, footwear, PVC leather manufacturing, mould production, recycling and export-oriented manufacturing.
Beyond the factories, the development is expected to feature administrative offices, residential facilities, power and utility stations, banks, shopping malls, showrooms, bonded warehouses, truck and trailer parking areas, conference centres and recreational facilities.
The developers project a gross development value of $3 billion, reflecting the anticipated scale of the wider industrial ecosystem.
One of the businesses associated with the project is Aspira Products, a Lee Group subsidiary that plans to establish its West African regional office within the industrial park. The proposed presence is expected to strengthen the facility’s role in manufacturing, distribution and regional trade.
According to the project details, its location near the Sagamu Interchange is expected to provide manufacturers with access to major transport routes, markets and logistics networks, helping to facilitate the movement of raw materials and finished goods.
The development could also create opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses supplying transportation, maintenance, accommodation, catering and other services to companies operating within the park.
With more than 29 factories planned, the project is expected to provide employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers, including young people and women. Construction activities are also expected to generate additional jobs as development progresses.
The concentration of manufacturing businesses in one location is expected to encourage collaboration, improve access to shared infrastructure and support the growth of local supply chains.
The project comes as Ogun State continues to attract industrial investment, supported by its proximity to Lagos, established manufacturing clusters and access to major transport corridors.
If delivered as planned, the Lee Group First Industrial Park could contribute to employment generation, expanded production and stronger export capacity, while creating new commercial opportunities for businesses across Ogun State and neighbouring areas.
