The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security across Nigeria and ensuring the protection of citizens and communities throughout the country.
The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, gave the assurance while addressing Nigerians in the diaspora, highlighting ongoing efforts by the government and security agencies to improve national security.
Musa said the government was taking steps to address the country’s security challenges through stronger coordination among security agencies, improved intelligence gathering and enhanced operational capabilities.
He stressed that protecting lives and property remains a major priority of the administration, adding that security efforts must extend to every part of the country.
The minister also emphasised the importance of cooperation between Nigerians at home and abroad in tackling security challenges. He encouraged members of the diaspora to continue supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace, stability and national development.
Musa noted that the government recognises the concerns of Nigerians regarding insecurity and is working to strengthen the capacity of the armed forces and other security institutions to respond effectively to emerging threats.
He further called for greater collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, communities and other stakeholders, noting that achieving lasting security requires a collective effort.
The minister assured Nigerians that the Federal Government would continue to invest in measures aimed at improving national security and creating a safer environment for citizens across the country.
He reiterated that the government remains determined to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity, safeguard its people and build a stronger security framework capable of responding to both existing and emerging threats.
