The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a combination of sunshine, cloudy conditions, thunderstorms and rainfall across different parts of Nigeria from Monday through Wednesday.

According to the three-day weather outlook, several parts of the country are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms during the period, although weather conditions will vary across regions.

On Monday morning, parts of Taraba, Adamawa and Kaduna are expected to experience thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall. Later in the day, similar conditions are forecast across parts of Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina and Kano.

In the North Central region, areas including the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi and Benue are expected to experience varying degrees of cloudiness, thunderstorms and rainfall.

Several states in the southern part of the country are also expected to record moderate to heavy rainfall during the forecast period.

NiMet advised residents to remain alert, particularly in areas where thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected. Members of the public were also encouraged to take appropriate precautions during periods of severe weather.

The agency’s forecast is intended to help residents, farmers, transport operators and other weather-sensitive sectors plan their activities and prepare for possible disruptions associated with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.

NiMet continues to urge Nigerians to monitor official weather updates as conditions may change during the three-day period.
