Security operatives have rescued 15 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and six other victims who were reportedly abducted by suspected kidnappers in Kogi State.
The rescue operation also led to the death of four suspected kidnappers during a gun battle with the security personnel.
The victims were reportedly travelling through Kogi State when they were intercepted and taken into captivity by the armed men.
Following the incident, security agencies launched a coordinated operation aimed at locating the victims and apprehending the perpetrators.
The operation reportedly resulted in a confrontation between the security forces and the kidnappers, during which four of the suspects were neutralised.
The 21 rescued victims, comprising 15 corps members and six other persons, were subsequently freed and taken to safety.
Security authorities have continued efforts to track other criminal elements operating in the area and prevent further attacks along major routes in the state.
The successful operation is expected to provide relief to families and associates of the victims, while also highlighting ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle kidnapping and other forms of criminality in Kogi State.
