Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed sadness over the death of the Emir of Zurmi, Alhaji Bello Muhammad Maradun.
The governor described the death of the traditional ruler as a significant loss to the people of Zurmi Emirate and the entire state.
In a condolence message, Lawal extended his sympathies to the emir’s family, the Zurmi Emirate Council and the people of the area, praying for strength and comfort for those mourning his passing.
The governor acknowledged the late emir’s contributions to the development and stability of his community, particularly his role in preserving the cultural heritage and traditional institutions of the emirate.
He described the traditional institution as an important partner in promoting peace, unity and development across Zamfara State.
Lawal also urged the people of Zurmi to remain united during the period of mourning and to honour the late emir’s legacy by continuing to support peace and community development.
The governor prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and asked God to grant his family, associates and the people of Zurmi the fortitude to bear the loss.
The death of the emir has continued to attract condolences from political leaders, traditional rulers and residents across Zamfara State.
