Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor has revealed that she once asked her son to leave the family home after he repeatedly disregarded her instructions.
The actress, popularly known as Mama G, shared the experience while speaking about parenting, discipline and the challenges of raising children.
Ozokwor explained that the decision was not made out of hatred or a desire to abandon her son, but was intended to teach him responsibility and make him understand the consequences of his actions.
According to the actress, she had given her son several warnings before eventually asking him to leave the house.
She said parents sometimes have to make difficult decisions when trying to guide their children, particularly when repeated advice and correction appear not to be producing the desired results.
Ozokwor stressed that discipline should be accompanied by love and proper guidance, noting that parents have an important role to play in preparing their children to become responsible adults.
The veteran actress also reflected on her own approach to raising her children, saying she believed in setting boundaries and ensuring that her children understood that their actions had consequences.
She noted that asking her son to leave home was a difficult decision, but one she considered necessary at the time.
