Gov Bago Nominates Six Commissioners, Names Four Political Aides in Niger

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved the nomination of six commissioners-designate and appointed four political aides as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s administration.

The appointments were announced in a statement by the Secretary to the Niger State Government, Abubakar Usman.

The six commissioner nominees are Lucky Barau from Gurara Local Government Area, Isah Wakili from Bosso, Dr Isah Adamu from Kontagora, Emmanuel Alamu from Magama, Shuaibu Kaboji from Mashegu and Mohammed Garba from Borgu.

Their appointments remain subject to confirmation by the Niger State House of Assembly.

In addition to the commissioner nominees, Bago appointed Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser. Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were also named Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C respectively.

The governor congratulated the appointees and urged them to demonstrate dedication, integrity and commitment in carrying out their responsibilities.

Bago said the appointments were intended to reinforce his administration’s governance structure and support the implementation of its development programmes across the state.

The new appointees are expected to contribute to the administration’s efforts to improve service delivery and advance its development agenda.
