Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Whitney Chukwu, popularly known as Nomy, has been disqualified from the reality show following repeated violations of Big Brother’s instructions.
Nomy’s disqualification was announced on Monday after she failed to comply with directives connected to the “Bench Warmer” punishment assigned to her following a Head of House challenge.
As part of the punishment, Nomy was instructed to remain on a designated bench and wear an assigned vest throughout the week. However, she left the bench and abandoned the vest, prompting Big Brother to question her about the violation.
The latest incident came after Nomy had previously received warnings over her conduct in the house. She had also been issued a strike, which Big Brother described as a final warning concerning her repeated failure to follow the rules.
During the confrontation, Big Brother told Nomy that her continued disregard for the instructions had resulted in the withdrawal of her privilege to remain in the competition.
She was subsequently given 30 minutes to pack her belongings and leave the house.
Nomy’s disqualification makes her the first housemate to be removed from the ongoing Season 11 competition on disciplinary grounds. She is also no longer in contention for the ₦160 million grand prize.
Her exit came shortly after the eviction of Gerard Adebija during the previous Sunday’s live show, leaving the remaining housemates to continue their pursuit of the season’s grand prize.
Nomy, 26, is a fashion designer and entrepreneur from Anambra State who was raised in Lagos. She has a background in sociology and is associated with the fashion brand Ambition by Witme.
Her time in the house was marked by an outspoken personality and several disagreements over the reality show’s rules, making her one of the season’s more discussed contestants.
With her disqualification, Nomy’s bid for the Season 11 title has come to an end, while the remaining housemates continue their journey towards the finale.
