President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with French President Emmanuel Macron for a private dinner at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
The meeting was disclosed on Friday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who shared photographs of the two leaders on social media.
According to Onanuga, the dinner highlighted the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and France, as well as both countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Photographs from the gathering showed Tinubu with Macron and France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron, during the dinner at the French presidential palace.
Tinubu is currently in France as part of his European holiday. He arrived in Paris on September 13 after spending the first part of his three-week leave in London.
The private meeting adds to the series of engagements between the Nigerian and French leaders in recent years, with Paris remaining one of Tinubu’s most frequent foreign destinations since he assumed office in 2023.
