Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has opened up about her experience after stepping into the boxing ring for the first time.
The actress said her celebrity boxing bout was unlike anything she had experienced before, revealing that she had never been involved in a physical fight prior to the contest.
Reflecting on the event, Nkechi said she noticed both the support and criticism directed at her, including comments from people who backed her and those who mocked her performance.
She also apologised to fans who placed bets on her to win but ended up losing money following the outcome of the fight.
“I’ve never been involved in a fight before until yesterday. It was a whole new experience for me. I saw everyone who supported me and those laughing at me, all the bad and good comments,” she said.
“I want to say sorry to everyone that bet on me and lost their money.”
The actress’ comments came after her celebrity boxing clash with reality TV star Phyna, who defeated her in the fourth round of the contest.
The bout formed part of the celebrity boxing event held in Lagos, which attracted significant attention from entertainment fans and generated reactions across social media.
Despite the outcome, Nkechi’s decision to participate marked a new experience for the actress, who has now received both praise and criticism from fans following her appearance in the ring.
