Former Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Whitney Chukwu, popularly known as Nomy, has opened up about her controversial exit from the reality show, insisting that she was unjustly disqualified.
Nomy made the disclosure during an interview on the WithChude podcast, where she reflected on her experience in the Big Brother house and the circumstances surrounding her removal.
According to the reality star, her time on the show was traumatising and she believes the decision to remove her was unfair.
Nomy argued that housemates are typically required to accumulate three strikes before being disqualified, but claimed that she had received only one strike before her exit.
“I was unjustly disqualified. Normally, what makes people leave the house is disqualification, and to get that you need three strikes. I was on one,” she said.
She further described her exit as unprecedented, claiming that her participation was “revoked” rather than ending through the usual disqualification process.
Nomy’s removal from the show was announced on September 7 after Big Brother cited repeated defiance of instructions. She had previously received a strike and warnings before being removed following her refusal to comply with instructions relating to her punishment as a benchwarmer.
Reflecting on her personality inside the house, Nomy said she entered the competition focused on winning rather than trying to make friends or change herself to fit expectations.
She also addressed her unfamiliarity with popular Nigerian internet personalities Peller and GehGeh, saying she had never heard of either of them before entering the show.
Despite the controversy surrounding her exit, Nomy embraced the reputation she acquired during her time on the programme.
“Even though I’m the villain of this season, I’m still the main character,” she said.
Her comments have reignited conversations among BBNaija fans about the circumstances surrounding her departure and whether the disciplinary action against her was justified.
