The agency also stressed that it has not appointed any individual, agent, consultant or third party to conduct recruitment on its behalf.

The development comes amid the transition from the former Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)to the Nigeria Revenue Service, a change that could make members of the public more susceptible to fraudulent recruitment claims using the former agency’s name.

The NRS advised job seekers to verify any recruitment information through its official communication channels before submitting personal information or making any payment.

The warning comes as employment-related scams continue to target Nigerians online, with fraudsters often exploiting the names and identities of government institutions to obtain sensitive information or money from unsuspecting applicants.
