Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff following the resignation of Segun Ogunwuyi.
The governor also appointed Mrs Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the state’s Due Process Office, in a fresh reshuffle of key administrative positions.
The appointments were announced on Monday through letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde. Both appointments take immediate effect.
Akinwole, a grassroots politician, previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission before his latest appointment.
Adedayo, who currently serves as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, will retain her existing position while taking on the additional responsibility of heading the Due Process Office.
Congratulating the appointees, Makinde urged them to discharge their duties with loyalty, commitment and dedication to the service of Oyo State.
The appointments followed Ogunwuyi’s resignation as Chief of Staff on Monday, October 12, 2026. In his resignation letter, Ogunwuyi expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve but did not state a specific reason for his departure.
Ogunwuyi, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, was among several aides who had left the Makinde administration in recent months.
The latest appointments mark a change in the governor’s team as his administration continues its work in Oyo State.
