Haaland also acknowledged the significance of the result, noting that the atmosphere at Anfield had made the contest particularly challenging.
The match attracted additional attention following the commission’s findings against City, which relate to alleged financial-rule breaches over several seasons. The club could face disciplinary consequences depending on the outcome of its appeal, although the final decision remains pending.
City midfielder Elliot Anderson also praised the team’s togetherness, describing the atmosphere as intense and commending his teammates for their determination.
The victory strengthened City’s position at the top of the Premier League table, giving them a three-point lead, while the financial case continues to cast uncertainty over the club’s longer-term prospects.
For Haaland and his teammates, however, the immediate priority remains maintaining their performances on the pitch as the club pursues its appeal.
