American rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been taken to hospital after sustaining a head injury while serving his prison sentence in New Jersey, United States.
The 56-year-old was reportedly transported from the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix by ambulance in the early hours of Saturday, October 10, 2026, for medical attention.
According to reports, the injury was not considered life-threatening. Combs was said to have been conscious and able to speak around the time of the incident. He reportedly returned to the prison later that morning.
However, the circumstances surrounding the injury remain unclear, as there has been no confirmed explanation of how it occurred.
A representative for the rapper said his team was aware of the reports and was working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, adding that his health and well-being remained their immediate concern.
The reported hospitalisation comes amid renewed attention surrounding Combs’ conditions in prison. Previous media reports alleged that he had access to prohibited items and received special treatment from fellow inmates, claims that attracted further scrutiny of his detention.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
His legal team has appealed the conviction and sentence. His projected release date has also reportedly been pushed back to March 2, 2028.
As details of the reported injury remain limited, it is still unclear what led to the incident or whether it will have any further implications for his incarceration
