Israel DMW, the logistics manager of popular Nigerian singer Davido, has declared his intention to vote for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 presidential election.

Israel made his position known in a statement shared on his Instagram page on Friday, October 16, 2026, where he expressed support for a Northern Nigerian leader and questioned an alleged ₦15 trillion contract awarded to an individual.

In his statement, the celebrity aide said he preferred a Northern Nigerian leader and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that Nigerians were free to choose their preferred candidate in the forthcoming election.

He wrote, “It is always far better when a northern Nigeria rules. 15 trillion contract to one person alone? I’m voting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. INEC should please allow Nigerians to freely choose whoever they want to govern them in January 2027. A good name is far better than money.”

His remarks have added to the growing political conversations surrounding the 2027 presidential election, as public figures increasingly express their preferences and opinions about potential candidates.

Israel’s comments also come amid public debate over political leadership, government contracts and the role of the electoral umpire in ensuring a credible election.

In a related development, Israel DMW recently praised former President Muhammadu Buhari for what he described as allowing Edo State residents to freely choose their preferred governor during the 2020 governorship election.

The logistics manager commended Buhari’s handling of the election, describing it as an example of allowing voters to exercise their democratic rights.

As political activities gather momentum ahead of 2027, Israel’s declaration highlights how entertainers and other public figures are contributing to discussions about leadership and electoral choices.

However, his position represents his personal political preference and does not necessarily reflect the views of Davido or other members of the entertainment industry.
