Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has claimed that she financially supported her colleague, Eniola Badmus, during a difficult period in her acting career when some filmmakers allegedly refused to cast her because of her physical appearance.
Bakare made the revelation during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, amid the ongoing public disagreement between the two actresses.
According to Bakare, she regularly gave Badmus money at a time when the actress was struggling to secure movie roles, alleging that her body size affected her chances of getting cast in productions.
“I use to give Eniola Badmus money very well when she was ugly and fat. I use to help her with money when nobody wanted to use her in their movies cos of her stature,” Bakare said.
The actress’s comments have added another dimension to the dispute between the two Nollywood stars, whose disagreement has recently attracted attention on social media.
Bakare had earlier accused Badmus of attempting to damage her reputation whenever her name came up in public discussions. She also alleged that she had repeatedly warned her colleague about the issue.
The latest revelation has brought renewed attention to their past relationship, with Bakare presenting herself as someone who offered financial assistance to Badmus during a challenging phase of her career.
However, the claims about the financial support and the circumstances surrounding Badmus’s casting opportunities remain Bakare’s account of events.
The dispute has continued to generate reactions among entertainment followers, with many watching to see whether Badmus will respond to the latest allegations.
