African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential spokesperson Kenneth Okonkwo has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, questioning what Nigerians did to deserve the current economic situation under his leadership.
Speaking about Atiku Abubakar’s affordability agenda, Okonkwo argued that Nigerians need leadership that prioritises making essential goods and services more accessible to ordinary citizens.
He declared that Atiku stands for affordability, using a playful reference to names beginning with the letter “A” to include Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and himself, Arinze.
His remarks have added to the ongoing political debate over the economy, the cost of living and the opposition’s plans ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okonkwo’s comments come amid continuing public discussions about rising living costs and the search for policies that could ease the financial pressure on Nigerian households.
Do you believe affordability should be the major priority for Nigeria’s next president?
