President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has prayed for Almighty Allah to transform Nigeria’s ethnic, religious and cultural diversity into a source of prosperity, peace and national development.
The President made the appeal on Sunday while hosting members of his delegation to dinner in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where he had travelled to perform the lesser Hajj, known as Umrah.
“May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria, convert our diversity into prosperity as a country,” Tinubu said.
He expressed hope that Nigeria’s diversity would strengthen national unity rather than fuel division, urging citizens to embrace mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence and a collective commitment to the country’s progress.
Tinubu also prayed for lasting peace and harmony, asking Allah to grant the nation’s leaders the wisdom, courage and foresight needed to improve living conditions and advance national development.
The President further sought divine protection for Nigerians at home and abroad, expressing hope that stronger bonds of brotherhood, patriotism and compassion would unite citizens across religious and ethnic lines.
According to him, Nigeria’s abundant human and natural resources, combined with the creativity and enterprise of its people, provide a strong foundation for building a prosperous and inclusive nation.
At the dinner, Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, pledged continued support for the President, saying the delegation had used the spiritual journey as an opportunity to pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity and prosperity.
Rabiu also commended Tinubu’s commitment to the country, assuring him of continued support from the business community.
Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, also prayed for divine guidance, wisdom and strength for the President as he leads the country.
Similarly, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, offered prayers for Tinubu, asking Allah to strengthen him in his efforts to deliver justice and good governance to Nigerians, irrespective of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.
The gathering was attended by several governors, senior government officials and business leaders, including Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
Tinubu’s prayer comes amid ongoing national conversations about insecurity, economic hardship and the need for greater unity, with the President expressing confidence that Nigerians can overcome their challenges through faith, cooperation and a shared commitment to national progress.
