Nigerian celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has appealed to his family, friends, business associates and the relatives of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, for forgiveness as he reflects on years of personal struggles and controversy.
IVD made the appeal in a message shared on Instagram on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, admitting that he was not perfect and asking for God’s mercy over his past mistakes.
Describing the past five years as a period of continuous battles, the businessman urged anyone he might have hurt through his words or actions to forgive him.
“To my family, friends and business partners, it’s been five years of endless battle, also trying to retract all my mistakes. I pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness. In any way I’ve hurt anyone, I pray for forgiveness,” he wrote.
He added that he had continued to pray for divine mercy, stressing that he was human and capable of making mistakes.
IVD also referenced the biblical principle that there is a time for everything, describing his present phase as a period for reflection and renewed focus.
His public appeal comes years after the death of his wife, Bimbo, who died in October 2022 from injuries sustained in a house fire following a reported altercation at their matrimonial home.
Her death generated widespread controversy, particularly after members of her family accused IVD of involvement in the incident. He was subsequently discharged and acquitted of complicity in her death in 2025.
The auto dealer later became involved in a widely discussed relationship with social media personality Blessing CEO, further drawing public attention amid the controversy surrounding his late wife’s death.
His latest message has renewed conversations about his past, personal accountability and the possibility of reconciliation with those affected by his actions.
Although IVD has publicly asked for forgiveness, it remains unclear how his family, business associates and his late wife’s relatives have responded to the appeal.
