The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced security restrictions ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state, including a ban on unauthorised drone operations and traffic controls around designated areas.

The measures are aimed at ensuring adequate security and maintaining public order during the President’s visit, as security agencies intensify preparations for the high-profile engagement.

The police warned residents, visitors and other stakeholders against operating drones without the necessary authorisation, stressing that violations of the directive would attract appropriate sanctions.

Motorists were also advised to take note of temporary traffic restrictions and cooperate with security personnel deployed to manage movement around affected locations.

The command urged residents to remain calm, obey traffic instructions and avoid actions capable of disrupting security arrangements.

It further appealed for public cooperation, noting that the restrictions were necessary to guarantee the safety of the President, other dignitaries and members of the public.

Security operatives are expected to maintain a visible presence across strategic locations throughout the visit.
