Nigeria’s Sand Eagles have suffered another 6–4 defeat to Senegal in their second international beach soccer friendly in Kaduna.

The result means the Nigerian side lost both matches in the two-game series against the reigning African beach soccer champions, with Senegal recording an identical 6–4 victory in each encounter.

The second meeting, played on Monday at the **Murtala Muhammed Square Beach Soccer Pitch, formed part of both teams’ preparations for their upcoming continental assignments.

Nigeria had hoped to use the friendlies to sharpen its squad ahead of the two-legged Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Ghana.

The Sand Eagles had also lost the opening encounter 6–4 on Saturday, with Abdullahi Hassan scoring all four of Nigeria’s goals. Senegal’s goals came from Laye Diagne, Mamadou Sylla, Ninou Diatta and Asane Ba.

Despite the two defeats, head coach Abdullahi Isa said the matches provided valuable competition and would help the technical team assess the players and identify areas that need improvement before the Ghana qualifiers.

Senegal, meanwhile, used the two fixtures as part of its preparations for the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, which it will host as defending champions.

Nigeria is now expected to turn its attention fully to the Ghana qualifiers, with the Sand Eagles looking to secure a place at the continental tournament after returning to international beach soccer competition in recent years.

The two friendly defeats will serve as a useful test for Nigeria as the team seeks to correct its weaknesses before the crucial qualifiers.
