A Canada-based pastor identified as Pastor Tayo has challenged gospel singer Tope Alabi and other personalities she accused of involvement in the death of fellow gospel minister Toluwanisings, insisting that she is prepared to face legal action over her claims.

The controversy follows allegations made by the pastor in a video circulating on social media, in which she claimed to have received a spiritual revelation concerning the death of the late gospel singer.

Pastor Challenges Tope Alabi and Others

In the video, Pastor Tayo reportedly dared those who believe her statements were defamatory to take her to court, maintaining that she was also ready to pursue legal action against anyone who defamed her.

She referenced Luke 6:31, a biblical passage that encourages people to treat others as they would like to be treated, to support her position.

The pastor further claimed that a revelation had shown her four familiar faces among individuals she described as occultic.

She named gospel singer Tope Alabi, comedian Woli Agba, comedian Woli Arole and Dele Omo Wole, alleging that they were connected to Toluwanisings’ death.

However, the allegations remain unsubstantiated, and no verified evidence has been presented to establish that any of the named individuals was involved in the singer’s death.

Pastor Tayo also called on Pastor Enoch Adeboye to intervene, urging him to examine the allegations and take action against the individuals she mentioned.

Tope Alabi Threatens Legal Action

The development comes after Tope Alabi reportedly issued a cease-and-desist notice through her legal representatives over publications linking her to Toluwanisings’ death.

The notice, dated October 24, 2026, demanded that the alleged defamatory content be removed, an unconditional retraction issued and a public apology published within 24 hours.

The singer’s legal team reportedly maintained that no police investigation, court ruling or official finding had established any connection between Alabi and the circumstances surrounding the late singer’s death.

Alabi also shared the legal notice on her Instagram page and tagged the Nigeria Police Force, indicating her intention to pursue available legal remedies.

The legal threat has intensified the controversy, with the pastor maintaining her position despite the warning.

What Happened to Toluwanisings?

Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, died on October 14, 2026, at the age of 34.

His death sparked widespread mourning within Nigeria’s gospel music community, with fans and colleagues expressing shock over the loss.

The circumstances surrounding his passing have also generated discussions on social media, with various claims emerging about the events preceding his death.

However, the allegations made by Pastor Tayo against the named gospel personalities have not been established by credible evidence.

The controversy has raised questions about the responsibility that comes with making serious public allegations, particularly when they concern the death of an individual and the reputations of other people.

As the dispute continues, the possibility of legal proceedings could determine how the parties address the allegations and their potential consequences.
