HYT Consulting has concluded a five-day employability bootcamp for 30 young women, equipping them with practical workplace skills to pursue sales careers in Nigeria’s financial services and fast-moving consumer goods sectors.

The training, held from October 5 to 9, 2026, at the company’s training facility in Lagos, was organised under the pilot cohort of the Talent Technology Service (TTS) Nigeria Programme. <Cite refs={[“turn130468search0”]}/>

The initiative is led by Tech4Dev in partnership with Univelcity, Semicolon and the Policy Innovation Centre, with support from the Mastercard Foundation. It aims to train 30,000 Nigerian women aged 18 to 35 and connect at least 25,000 of them to dignified employment opportunities.

HYT Consulting collaborated with Semicolon to design and deliver the competency-based programme, drawing on its experience in recruitment, outsourcing and human capital development.

Rather than focusing solely on classroom instruction, the bootcamp emphasised practical workplace competencies to help participants understand employers’ expectations and prepare for the demands of professional employment.

Speaking on the initiative, HYT Consulting’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Folusho Odegbaike, said the company was committed to bridging the gap between the talents young people possess and the skills employers require.

She explained that employability goes beyond securing a job, stressing that workers must also be equipped to contribute to business objectives, perform effectively and build sustainable careers.

Odegbaike added that investing in women’s professional development benefits not only individual participants but also businesses, families and communities by expanding economic participation and strengthening the country’s human capital.

The Head of Communications for the TTS Nigeria Programme, Oluwatoyin Ashipa, said the bootcamp demonstrated the importance of partnerships between training providers and industry in translating skills development into employment opportunities.

Similarly, the programme’s Senior Learning Manager, Simisola Aluko, emphasised the need to connect practical training with pathways into formal employment, particularly in business process outsourcing and related sectors.

According to the organisers, the broader programme seeks to improve access to dignified work for young Nigerian women by developing skills aligned with employers’ needs and creating stronger links between training and recruitment.

The completion of the pilot bootcamp marks an early step in that effort, with the participants better prepared to pursue opportunities in the financial services and FMCG industries.
