The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended 28 candidates for various judicial appointments across Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s justice system.
The recommendations followed the council’s consideration of applications and nominations for vacant judicial positions in different courts across the country.
The appointments are expected to address manpower gaps within the judiciary and improve the administration of justice.
The NJC, which is responsible for recommending judicial officers for appointment, considers candidates based on established constitutional requirements, professional qualifications and suitability for the positions.
The recommendations will now be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for the necessary approval and appointment processes.
The development forms part of the council’s ongoing efforts to ensure that courts across the country have adequate judicial personnel to handle increasing caseloads and improve the delivery of justice.
The full list of the 28 recommended candidates includes nominees for different judicial positions across the affected jurisdictions.
