The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has assured that all capital projects initiated by President Bola Tinubu’s administration in Abuja will be completed before the end of the administration’s tenure.

Wike gave the assurance during his monthly media briefing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he reviewed the progress of infrastructure projects being undertaken by the FCT Administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The minister disclosed that 107 capital projects initiated under the Tinubu administration had so far been commissioned in the FCT, with 76 already completed.

According to him, another 10 projects are scheduled for commissioning before the January elections, while the remaining projects are expected to be completed before the end of the current administration.

Wike also highlighted progress on projects inherited from previous administrations. He said the FCT Administration inherited 25 projects from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s government and had completed 23 of them, leaving two still under construction.

He added that eight projects inherited from the administrations of former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua had also been addressed, with six completed and two still ongoing.

The FCT minister reiterated that the administration would ensure that all projects started under President Tinubu are completed before the expiration of his tenure.

Wike further challenged critics to compare the scale of infrastructure development under the Tinubu administration with what was achieved by previous governments in the Federal Capital Territory.

He maintained that the level of development recorded in Abuja under the current administration represented a significant milestone in the history of the FCT.
