Basirat Fawehinmi-Biobaku, daughter of the late human rights lawyer and pro-democracy activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, has praised Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for what she described as his commitment to improving the lives of residents.

Fawehinmi-Biobaku made the remarks during the presentation of her book, Gani Fawehinmi and Uba Sani: A Tale of Mentor and Mentee, held at the Brigadier Abba Kyari Banquet Hall in Kaduna.

She recalled the close relationship between her late father and Sani, who lived with the Fawehinmi family for four years at their home in Ikeja, Lagos. According to her, the two worked closely together and shared a strong bond during that period.

She said her father had advised Sani more than three decades ago to always prioritise the interests of ordinary Nigerians if he ever had the opportunity to serve the country.

Fawehinmi-Biobaku said she had visited different parts of Kaduna State to assess some of the projects implemented by the governor and believed they reflected the values her father had instilled in him.

She particularly highlighted investments in education, including the construction of schools and classrooms and efforts to reduce the number of out-of-school children through free education from primary to secondary school.
