The Coalition of Northern Elders for Peace and Development has backed Minister of Defence Christopher Musa following his recent comments concerning former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The group said Musa’s remarks should be viewed in the context of the ongoing national security challenges and maintained that the Defence Minister was addressing issues of public concern rather than engaging in a personal dispute.
The northern elders also called for a comprehensive review of El-Rufai’s record as Kaduna State governor, arguing that his administration should be assessed based on its policies, decisions and overall impact on the state.
They said public officials, including former governors, should be open to scrutiny, particularly when their records are being discussed in relation to national affairs.
