Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on transport operators across Nigeria to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections through peaceful and organised mobilisation.
Shettima made the appeal while addressing members of the transport sector, stressing the importance of maintaining peace and stability as political activities intensify ahead of the elections.
The Vice President urged transport stakeholders to use their networks to promote the administration’s programmes and encourage citizens to participate responsibly in the democratic process.
He emphasised that political mobilisation should be conducted without violence, intimidation or actions capable of disrupting public peace.
Shettima also highlighted the role of transport operators in connecting communities across the country, noting that their wide reach could make them important partners in grassroots engagement ahead of the elections.
The call comes as political parties and interest groups begin strengthening their structures and mobilisation efforts in preparation for the 2027 presidential and general elections.
