The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has urged Nigerians to take the lead in addressing the country’s economic challenges, arguing that sustainable recovery cannot depend on foreign intervention.

Adebayo said Nigeria must develop home-grown solutions to its economic difficulties and make better use of the country’s human and natural resources.

The SDP presidential candidate stressed the importance of reducing dependence on external assistance, maintaining that Nigerians themselves have a major role to play in rebuilding the economy and improving living conditions.

He called for policies that would strengthen local production, create opportunities for citizens and encourage greater economic participation.

Adebayo also emphasised the need for Nigerians to support initiatives capable of strengthening the country’s economy rather than relying on foreign countries to provide solutions to domestic problems.

He maintained that with effective leadership, responsible governance and collective commitment, Nigeria can overcome its present challenges and achieve sustainable development.

The SDP candidate’s position comes amid continuing concerns over economic hardship, unemployment and the rising cost of living, with calls growing for policies that can translate economic activity into improved living standards for Nigerians.
