The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said the improvements recorded in the country’s macroeconomic environment will soon translate into better conditions for households and businesses.
The apex bank said recent reforms and policy measures have helped strengthen key economic indicators, with the benefits expected to become more visible to Nigerians as the gains are sustained.
According to the CBN, progress recorded in areas such as inflation management, exchange-rate stability and improved economic activity provides a stronger foundation for increased prosperity.
The bank acknowledged that many households are yet to feel the full impact of the improvements, particularly amid the pressures created by the high cost of living.
It, however, maintained that macroeconomic stability is an important first step towards achieving sustained economic growth and improving household welfare.
The CBN said continued implementation of economic reforms, alongside increased productivity and investment, would help create the conditions necessary for businesses to expand, employment opportunities to grow and incomes to improve.
It also stressed the importance of maintaining policy consistency to consolidate the gains already achieved and strengthen confidence in the Nigerian economy.
The apex bank expressed optimism that as economic conditions continue to improve, the benefits would increasingly filter through to households and translate into improved living standards.
The development comes amid ongoing efforts by the Federal Government and monetary authorities to address economic challenges, attract investment and create a more stable environment for sustainable growth.
