Social media critic VeryDarkMan has come under fire from a Nigerian man who questioned his recent investigations into school projects and luxury vehicles allegedly linked to the sons of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The critic challenged the activist to openly declare his preferred presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections, suggesting that his recent activities could be politically motivated.
The controversy follows VeryDarkMan’s scrutiny of issues involving the Adeleke family, including questions surrounding school projects and luxury cars reportedly associated with the governor’s sons.
The critic argued that the activist should be transparent about his political affiliations rather than allow his investigations to fuel speculation about his intentions.
He urged VeryDarkMan to disclose which candidate he intends to support in 2027, insisting that Nigerians deserve clarity about the political interests of influential online commentators.
VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, has built a large following through online activism, public-interest commentary and confrontations over alleged misconduct involving public figures and institutions.
His activities have frequently generated heated discussions, with supporters praising his willingness to question powerful individuals while critics sometimes challenge his methods and motives.
The latest exchange has reignited debate over the role of social media activists in political accountability, particularly as politicians and supporters begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
However, the critic’s suggestion of political motivation remains an allegation, and no evidence cited in the report establishes that VeryDarkMan’s investigations were directed by a political candidate.
